About Brian Qara “Entangled in the program of life we seek after things believing they will offer us fulfillment. We work hard to uphold an image of ourselves that we have believed to be true. Blindly we play out this charade until death, unless by some grace we may see that all our efforting is unnecessary and somehow in some way a radical invitation to stop all seeking is offered. How our life was before this moment matters not – all that matters is our willingness to tell the truth of our suffering, of our seeking fulfillment in phenomena. Brian spent most of his life, seeking fulfillment by chasing dreams – either in business ventures, an acting career, or filmmaking – basically having an idea (a dream) and then trying to manifest it. He also spent his life looking for love in relationships: looking to find the one, as if that love would offer wholeness. In 1996, an experience of divine communion in Joshua Tree Desert inspired Brian to seek truth. The seeking for fulfillment in worldly achievements began to switch to a spiritual search for God and truth. In meditation he found a love and bliss deeper then any worldly experience or relationship. He experienced a series of deep awakenings and mystical happenings. Having found truth and bliss he began to teach this spirituality to others. Brian was still seeking what he thought was complete enlightenment. In 1999, he was randomly given an old Osho book. Sitting and meditating without the expectation of what would come next, he fell past the bliss and into full awareness. Deeply touched by Osho as his teacher, Brian realized the Tao. He spent the next two years in total let go, meditating for hours a day, deeply immersed in this non-separate realization. Although he knew he was awareness itself, there was still a thread of re-identification with a seeking mind. He still struggled with the dynamic between doing and being, filled with authentic realizations and spiritual understandings he was without a true living teacher to turn to. “I just wanted a living enlightened teacher who could tell me yes or no. I knew all that was left was to let go more.” In January 2001 Brian prayed for a living enlightened teacher that could help him. His prayer was answered that month as he found that Gangaji (an American born spiritual teacher) was coming to Los Angeles. Brian put aside all teaching – if he was to share in the future the teaching had to be completely pure. In his time with Gangaji the last layers of misidentification, spiritual concepts, and arrogance fell to the side as he finally stopped – called of all searching and fell into deep silence. It was the complete end of the illusion of separation and the full realization of the limitless nature of all. He took on the name Qara – a name that had come to him years before in a mystical experience. Gangaji confirmed the purity of the transmission from Brian Qara and gave her blessing for him to share this invitation with you. Brian Qara accepts this blessing in total gratitude and has dedicated his life to sharing the transmission and invitation of freedom. The invitation which Gangaji, Papaji, and Sri Ramana Maharshi share: to stop all seeking and realize that who you are is already free and always at peace. This is the truth which Osho pointed to with all he shared – that which all enlightened masters throughout time have been pointing to – limitless self beyond understanding or explanation.
